How do I change my MySQL password?
  Log in by telnet or ssh and type this command:
    mysql -p youraccount
(Replace youraccount with your login account name.)

You will be prompted for your old password. When you reach the "mysql>" prompt, type this MySQL statement:
    set password=password('new-password-goes-here');
Don't forget the semicolon at the end.

To quit the MySQL client and return to the shell prompt, type control-D.
