Getting Started

The instructions in this FAQ use yoursite.com in examples. Replace yoursite.com with your domain name.
Non-profits that don't have their own domain name, however, will use youraccount.kics.bc.ca.
In this case, replace youraccount with your KICS Account name.
Please review these pages carefully. If you still can't find the information you need, request assistance by submitting a Support Ticket.
KICS Account Management

Check Your Storage Quota

There are several ways to check your storage quota. The easiest is to log into your KICS Account at any time by visiting KICS Account Administration.

You will see a table with disk quota, usage, and limit, along with a report of how much disk space is used by each of the folders in your account.

All numbers are listed in kilobytes (1024 kilobytes = 1 megabyte).

If you are an advanced user you can also connect to your shell account by Telnet or SSH. Your storage quota information is presented upon successful login.

It is a good idea to read this information about Email and Storage Quota.

Change Your Account/ FTP Password

If you are worried that the security of your account may have been compromised, it is a good idea to change your password.

The easiest is to change your password is to log into your account by visiting KICS Account Administration. A new password will be sent to you by email.

NOTE: When KICS sets up your account, your KICS Account password and FTP password are the same. If you change your FTP password, your KICS Account password also changes. Make sure you record your new KICS Account password in a safe place (ideally in the same place as your other passwords for KICS Mail Setup, and individual email accounts).

Keep in mind that your KICS Account/ FTP password is not the same as your email setup password, or the password(s) for any additional email account(s) you may have created.
